About 500 years ago Sri Rup Manjari was incarnated in the Person Sri Rup Goswami.
He and his companions were given the duty of systematizing the teacings of the Goudiya Vaishnava religion, by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, for the benefit if the coming generation of Vaishnavas.
Rup Goswami retired from his material post as the Preminister of Bengal (Bangladesh and the Indian state West Bengal), to become a renunciate, a beggar, and ascetic, living under a tree.
Because of his accomplishment, Rup Goswami is known as the supreme Guru in the Goudiya Vaishnav Religion.
The follovers of this system is called Rup-Anuga, or the follovers of Rup Goswami.
Sekitar 500 tahun yang lalu Sri Rup Manjari berinkarnasi sebagai Rup Goswami.
Beliau dan rekan-rekannya diberi Tugas oleh Sri Caitanya mahaprabhu untuk membuat sistem pelajaran Goudiya Vaishnav Sampradaya untuk generasi-generasi Vaishnav jaman berikutnya.
Rup Goswami turun dari pekerjaan di pemerintah kerajaan Benggal (Bangladesh dan West Benggal di India), untuk menjadi seorang petapa, seorang pengemis yang hinup dibahwa sebatang pohon.
Oleh pekerjaan agung Rup Goswami siapkan beliau dikenal sebagai Guru yang terutama dalam Agama Goudiya vaishnav.
Pengikutnya disebut Rup-anuga, atau pengikut Rup Goswami.
